Snag getting Jenkins up and running

I ran into a snag in getting Jenkins up and running. After it installed, it asked me for an admin password.

I was like what is this?

I entered that path in my terminal. I got an error that said something like ” I don’t know what you’re talking about.

After searching Google for an hour and a half for solutions that didn’t work. Running docker --help in the terminal actually helped me.

I found commands to find the containers on my system because you need the container ID to look at the logs.

docker container list

then I did

docker logs of course substituding the container ID with my container ID to get the auto generated admin password.

Then I finished setting up Docker.

That was fun. 🙂
